Sustainability
Considine Biebel & Company, located in Erie, Pa, is experienced in sustainable construction, completing many LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) projects throughout the Erie region.
While standard building practices are guided by short-term economic considerations, sustainable construction is based on best practices, which emphasize long-term affordability, quality, and efficiency. At each stage of the life cycle of the building, it increases comfort and the quality of life, while decreasing negative environmental impact.
A building designed and constructed in a sustainable way minimizes the use of water, raw materials, energy and land over the whole life cycle of the building. The LEED Green Building Rating System is the nationally accepted benchmark for design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. The rating system provides owners and operators the tools and information they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on the performance of the buildings in their portfolio.
Fairview Township Municipal Building
“We had an old steel arch building and needed more space. Considine Biebel worked with us and the designers to replace our existing garage and create a large meeting room and conference room. The new building gives us about two and a half times more space. The project was very much on budget with few add-ons. It was wonderful.”
